I began my career as a Certified Nursing Assistant before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse and now a Bachelors trained Registered Nurse. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Western Governors University. Prior to joining the Serengeti team, I was a Resident Care Director for an assisted living community. I currently provide nursing oversight and help deliver holistic care to clients through specialized medical case management. I’m grateful for the opportunity to get to know clients and their families, and support them with physical and emotional needs. I always try to provide them with the best care possible. Outside of work, I enjoy running, hiking, biking, travelling, gardening , and whipping up new recipes in the kitchen!

Care-giving is near and dear to my heart. Having a family member who needs constant care guided my choice to stay in the healthcare field and grow my career in this field.
I love helping people and believe that everyone deserves the utmost respect and best care to live their lives to their fullest potential.
During my free time I like to spend time with my daughter, 4 grand-kids, and 4 grand-dogs. Couple of my favorite things to do is walking my dog and sewing.

Hello my name is Jamie Akers and I am the Staffing Manager for Serengeti Care, Renton. I have worked in the Health Care field for over 20 years in some way shape or form. I started at the age 14 helping a family friend with Multiple Sclerosis and from there I realized helping people is my calling in life. I became a Certified Nursing Assistant and then went back to school to be a Medical Assistant.
When not at work, my family is very important to me and I love spending as much time with them as possible. I enjoy hosting big gatherings and spoiling my grandchildren, we enjoy movies, camping, swimming and love being outside.

I have been in the health care field for 17 years having worked in both in home care as well as with individuals with developmental disabilities. I love what I do and couldn’t think of a better way to spend my life. Helping and giving is in my nature! My husband and I I have 4 children, 3 are biological and the 4th is my niece who I have guardianship over and have been raising since she was a baby. I love to disc golf and be outdoors with my kids. I am very family oriented and love good food!

Working in Home Care is also rewarding because you are helping people live a better life everyday. In my free time, I coach baseball and help run a youth baseball organization. I enjoy going on adventures with my wife, playing golf, and spending time with our Nieces. I’m is also a HUGE Seattle Sports fan. “Go Hawks and Huskies!”

I am originally from the Bay Area, but met and fell in love with not only the Evergreen state but my husband and daughter of 11 years. I have been in healthcare for most of my life and enjoy meeting new people while providing the best care possible. I see it as a huge blessing to be able to work and give care for those in need and hope to continue to do so for the rest of my life.
When not at work I love to hangout and BBQ with my family and kids, singing in our SDA Youth praise team, cooking and discovering new places for camping. I’m also a huge Seahawks fan in a family of nothing but Raider and 49 niner fans so its always fun and LOUD in our home.

Cindy started her career in care in 1999 in her home state of Arizona. First as a Certified Nursing Assistant and then as a Physical Therapy Aide and Discharged Planner in skilled nursing. It was during that time that she fell in love with the thought of providing care and being a voice for those who could not speak for themselves. Over the past 15 years, she has directly worked in assisted living and memory care as a Memory Care Director, Sales and Marketing Director and Assistant Executive Director. Cindy has also served as dementia support group host and has provided training and support for caregivers and families who are caring for loved ones in their home and have been affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia.
