The Serengeti Care Gift of Care Certificate is designed to provide essential support in various life situations. Ideal candidates include:

What’s Not Included?
The Gift of Care Certificate is designed for general assistance and companionship but does not include:
- Nursing care or medication management.
- Refunds. However, certificates are transferable to another person.
- Extensions beyond 90 days. The certificate must be used within 90 days, whether it has been transferred or not.
- Multi-household usage. Each certificate is valid for use in a single household but can cover multiple assignments within that household.

Yes, the minimum purchase is 8 hours of care. This requirement ensures that caregivers receive fair and sustainable work, while also providing recipients with more effective care. Shorter shifts can be challenging to schedule and may not allow enough time to build rapport and meet the recipient’s needs.
How long is the gift certificate valid?
Gift certificates must be used within 90 days from the date of purchase.
Can I transfer my Gift of Care certificate to someone else?
No, Gift of Care certificates are created specifically for the intended recipient and cannot be transferred to another person.
Where are services available?
Gift of Care services are available in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana within areas where Serengeti Care operates. Please ensure that the recipient lives within our service area before purchasing.

How do I schedule a caregiver visit?
- A Client Care Manager will reach out within 48 business hours of purchase to schedule care.
- Services must be scheduled in advance and are subject to caregiver availability.
- We do our best to accommodate preferred service times, but availability may vary.
What is the refund policy?
Gift certificates are non-refundable, except in the following situations:
- Recipient declines services
- We are unable to match a caregiver to the recipient’s needs
- The recipient lives outside our service area
- A major medical or emergency situation prevents service
- Unforeseen circumstances, such as natural disasters or severe weather
- We are unable to schedule a caregiver within a reasonable timeframe
- Safety concerns prevent us from providing care in the recipient’s home
How to Request a Refund:
- Submit a written request to care@serengeticare.com within the 90-day validity period.
- Approved refunds will be processed within 30 days.
- If a refund is not issued, the gift certificate will expire at the end of the 90-day period.
What if I need to cancel a scheduled caregiver visit?
- If the recipient cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice, the scheduled time may be forfeited.
- If Serengeti Care needs to cancel, we will offer an alternative appointment.
How are caregivers matched with recipients?
We take the time to understand the recipient’s needs and preferences. Our team carefully matches caregivers based on compatibility and comfort level.
What are the responsibilities of recipients and caregivers?
Recipients & Their Households:
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for the caregiver.
- Requests must remain within the scope of non-medical services.
