At Serengeti Care, we talk often about “caring for the whole person”, not just the clients and families we serve, but also the team members who show up every day with compassion and commitment. The Serengeti Care Foundation was created to live that promise in a tangible way, providing critical, short‑term financial support when employees face unexpected crises.
For Jenni B., a branch manager who joined Serengeti Care in October 2024, that support made the difference between instability and safety for her family.
“My name is Jenni and I began my journey as a branch manager with Serengeti Care in October 2024. I wanted to share my experience in receiving assistance from the Serengeti Care Foundation.”
A Hard Season No One Plans For
Like many families, Jenni’s challenges didn’t arrive all at once. A series of financial hardships and miscommunications built up over time, stretching her resources thinner and thinner. In the fall of 2025, she temporarily took in her nephew, adding another child to her household expenses.
Then, in mid‑March 2026, everything came to a head.
Jenni returned home to find a 14‑day pay‑or‑vacate notice taped to her door, stating that she owed for missed rent payments and would be evicted if the balance wasn’t paid in full.
“As a single mother to two teenagers, one who is medically complex, this was heartbreaking and I was left feeling desperate.”
Jenni did everything she could. She reached out to family and friends, secured a bank loan, and arranged pay advances. Through determination and a lot of humility, she pulled together most of what she owed.
But she was still $2,000 short.
Turning to the Serengeti Care Foundation
With the clock ticking and options running out, Jenni sent an email to Albert, unsure what might be possible but hoping for guidance.
“With little hope remaining, I emailed Albert and asked if there was any assistance available. He reminded me of the benefits of the Serengeti Care Foundation.”
From there, the conversation shifted from crisis to problem‑solving. Jenni describes a process rooted in empathy and respect, not judgment.
“After discussing in detail what my needs were with nothing but compassion and understanding, he graciously informed me that the foundation was able to provide the additional $2,000 needed to avoid eviction.”
That support closed the final gap. It kept Jenni and her children stably housed and safe during an incredibly vulnerable moment.
More Than Money: Restoring Security and Hope
For Jenni, the Foundation’s support wasn’t just a financial transaction, it was a lifeline and a powerful affirmation that she wasn’t facing this challenge alone.
“I am so grateful that this resource is available. It is humbling to admit one’s shortcomings but knowing that the foundation was able to provide funds gave me hope and a renewed sense of security when I was able to pay off my rental debt in full.”
In caregiving, we ask our teams to bring compassion, patience, and professionalism to every shift. The Serengeti Care Foundation is one way we offer that same care back to them, especially when life outside of work becomes overwhelming.
“It Truly Is Being Used to Enrich and Improve Lives”
Jenni chose to share her story not only out of gratitude, but to encourage others, both those who may need help and those who may be able to give.
“I encourage anyone who is able to donate to this amazing foundation to please do so because it truly is being used to enrich and improve the lives of many. I will forever be grateful for the assistance I received.”
Her experience is exactly why the Serengeti Care Foundation exists: to step in at critical moments, preserve stability for our team members, their families and care givers in our communities, and ensure those who care for others aren’t left to navigate hardship alone.
